Counselling Approach
In person-centred therapy, each person is regarded as unique, like trees in a forest, or even the leaves from the same tree. Every one is subject to a myriad of factors and we all manifest differently. Being part of mother nature, people have an urge to thrive, no matter how difficult the circumstances. As a Buddhist, my inspiration is in the here and now and being present with you.
At this point in time, you may want to be supported, to be in a safe environment where you can work through the difficult thoughts and feelings that you are experiencing. As a counsellor, my approach is eclectic; evidence-based, person-centred and influenced by Buddhism and yoga philosophy. Depending on what arises in the course of our sessions, we might work together using modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, Narrative therapy and Somatic (body-awareness) practices. Some issues that we can collaborate on include: stress, anxiety, anger, depression, physical illness (including health issues/addiction), grief and loss, and relationships.
